Full Plate, Full Heart, Full Season 🏈

Juggling It All

This year’s different. Not just because the season’s here, but because I’ve added more to my plate than I ever have before.

  • Dad to a first grader who plays multiple sports and seems to have an energy source the rest of us can only dream of.
  • Husband to another teacher who’s also gearing up for the back-to-school grind.
  • Coach with two new additions to my defensive staff, fresh playbook wrinkles, and the same high expectations we set every year.
  • Teacher with all the “school’s almost here” responsibilities stacking up fast.
  • Business Owner running the small football notebook line, our new website, and our Film Study Guide that’s designed to give players a real edge.

I’m swamped—but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Energy Is Building

It’s that time of year where my TV gets stuck on two things—actual football games and football docu-series. HBO’s Hard Knocks. The new SEC series. These shows pull back the curtain so you see coaches, players, and families in their real, unfiltered moments. It fires me up because it reminds me why we all do this in the first place.

Friday Night Lights—Nationwide

One of the coolest parts about football culture in the U.S. is how regional it is—yet connected. At 7:00–7:30 p.m. on Friday nights, from Maine to California, whistles are blowing and lights are firing up. All over the country, kids are chasing the same dream.

Different regions have different flavors:

  • Up north—tough, smash-mouth football.
  • Down south—speed, swagger, and some stadiums bigger than small colleges.
  • Midwest—disciplined, balanced ball with deep community pride.
  • Texas—well, Texas.
  • California—big athletes, spread schemes, and a unique swagger all their own.

Why We Love It

This is the time for:

  • Rivalry games that bring whole towns to a standstill.
  • Breakout players who go from unknown to can’t-miss.
  • Coaches hitting win milestones or flipping struggling programs into contenders.
  • Kids earning scholarships and living out their college football dreams.

For some teams, the goal is to be practicing past Thanksgiving. For others, it’s about finally breaking through to a championship. Either way—it’s the hunt that makes it special.

Bigger Than the Game

Everywhere I look this time of year, I’m reminded that football’s more than X’s and O’s. It’s about culture, community, and opportunity. It’s about a kid in Georgia playing under the lights in a stadium like Buford’s, or a small-town team in Ohio grinding on a grass field. It’s about all of us chasing the same thing—our best season yet.

Get Your Edge

If you haven’t already, check out our football notebooks and the Film Study Guide. These tools aren’t just for writing plays—they’re about thinking the game and giving your player a mental advantage.

It’s Time

The wait’s over. The season’s here. The games are starting. And it’s time to do what we do best.

It’s time to GET TO THE FOOTBALL. 💥
